IPL Pulls Out Vivo “Chinese Brand” from the Title Sponsor

Chinese smartphone producer Vivo has opted out of the Indian Premier League 2020 title sponsorship after disagreement with India’s cricket board over a reduction on the sponsorship charge and in response to rising opposition to a Chinese model backing the match following the Galwan stand-off.

High officers within the Board of Management for Cricket in India advised ET that Vivo had been on the lookout for a discount within the sponsorship sum because of the Covid-19 disruption and determined to take a seat this one out as anti-China sentiment intensified over the previous two days.
